We so appreciate these verse versions. My partner is going through a rough patch health wise and I read these to her in the evenings.

thank you for the kind words and i feel blessed to be able to offer that to someone.

we never know what role we play in the lives of others but your comment leaves me with the resolve to offer my very best since the possibility that it may serve as a light someone in a dark time is it’s own reward.

My partner then asked where I could find the Verses collected so I stumbled around and your book with Appendix is on its way!

In the meantime some recollections: Perhaps at some point in the past you caught a cab from the airport in Anchorage and you met an unusual Ethiopian working the night shift. Our best friend Adam drank himself to death and died 3+ years ago in Anchorage. Deborah met him through Amnesty Int'l in San Diego in the 80's. Fluent in both Ethiopian languages, Arabic, Italian and Spanish he was quite the character having been a man without a country in his youth following the civil war in the 70's. We had some great vacations together but in recent years he withdrew from us. D sensed his drinking had gotten worse along with the SAD that most Alaskans suffer from if they do not go south often enough. And God forbid Deborah would fly out to help him! in any way. She found out about his death on the internet. We will meet again on the other side.

Never thought I'd see the day where I would find the terms 'anthroposopher' and 'Rolfer" together! I benefited greatly living in a spiritual community in San Diego in the late 70's which included a couple of Rolfers. Some of those folks went on to found the Inst. for Psycho-Structural Balancing which may still exist. Enough nostalgia. Again, really appreciate your Work.

thanks again, and yes, they are all collected in an appendix to The Redemption of Thinking. I am, however, taking this occasion to revise them progressively over the course of this year and ultimately I would like to publish them in their own right. do you or your partner have illustrative skills and interest in a collaboration? :-)

Hi Max:

Deborah wanted me to tell you again that your verses are her first choice for her palliative care. And further, in different times she would have taken you up on your kind illustrative offer!

In the alternative, it occurred to me if you would like I could send you a copy of a self-published translation from the early 80's done by my friend Gunther Schmitz for local Anthropops. It is entitled simply The Calendar of 1912/1913 by Emil Funk. At 70 pages of reference material on Der Seelenkalender it also includes Imme Eckhardstein's zodiac images. Pretty sure this is out of print in the original German.

Cheers,

Stephen V.
