interesting text. I would only add that this incomprehension continued to happen, though in different ways, across the centuries. and is still happening now.

That is why Anthroposophical Spiritual Science came into the world at the outset of the 20th century. We have to do more than just have an opinion. Maybe incomprehension is what people want in today's social media infestation. Yet, the parameters of a Science of the Spirit have all been set in place, just like the upper room on Holy Thursday.

Here is a definitive place in a definitive lecture that describes much about why some people, i.e., the Pharisees, were very suspicious about Jesus as the Messiah. Steiner confesses in detail here that it all came to a head with the raising of Lazarus, and then the triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday:

https://rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA103/English/AP1962/19080522p01.html

"What was the position of the Baptist in his own age? Who, in fact, was the Baptist? He was one of those who — like others in their initiation — had received indications of the coming Christ, but he was represented as the only one to whom the true mystery concerning Christ-Jesus had been revealed, namely, that He who had appeared was the Christ Himself. Those who were called Pharisees or were designated by other names saw in Christ-Jesus some one who in fact opposed their old principles of initiation, one who in their eyes did things to which they in their conservatism could not accede. Just because of their conservatism they said: — We must adhere to the old principles of initiation. And this inconsistency of constantly speaking about the future Christ, yet never admitting that the moment had arrived when He was really present, was the reason for their conservatism. Therefore when Christ-Jesus initiated Lazarus, they looked upon it as a violation of the ancient Mystery-traditions. “This man performs many signs! We can have no intercourse with him!” According to their understanding, He had betrayed the Mysteries, had made public what should be confined within their secret depths. Now we can see how to them this was like a betrayal and seemed to be a valid reason for rising up against Him. From that time, because of this, a change takes place; the persecution of Christ-Jesus begins."

Now, early in the Gospel of Mark, we have further proof of this hardening of the heart, which is clearly the affliction of the Pharisees, who represent the Sanhedrin Council, and not the people, who eventually become the multitude:

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

3 He entered again into a synagogue; and a man was there whose hand was withered. 2 They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him. 3 He said to the man with the withered hand, “Get up and come forward!” 4 And He said to them, “Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent. 5 After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. 6 The Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him. Indeed. Matter has an overseer, which is why the crops continue to be planted and grow. If left to our own devices, we would be lost, and some would have it that way, not knowing how much they are loved and being guided on the course. Good stuff here with Holy Week.

Bubba Free John was born as Franklin Jones of Queens, New York in 1939. He evolved to Adi Da Sumraj by 1972, when he was 33 years old. Yet, could he really have given the real nature of the resurrection, or possibly a false conception? His movement was typical of any number of spiritual-materialist movements in the last quarter of the 20th century in America. Today, we are looking into the larger venue, which traces back to Christ, who is said to have only worn sackcloth and sandals.

This essay describes the fabricated origins of the "New" Testament.

http://www.dabase.org/up-5-1.htm

Among other things the author points out that when the early Christian church used the word "New" as distinct from the "Old" Christians were effectively saying that Christian-ism was now effectively the new Jerusalem and that Judaism was now obsolete. And as such the Jews had to be converted to the now "one true" belief system. Such thus became the deep-rooted basis of (against the Jews) anti-semitism

This reference provides a completely different Illuminated Understanding of the Teaching ABOUT Man that Jesus communicated while he was alive - pointing out that the "resurrection" did not happen.

I will highlight just one point in helping to explain why there is no apparent physical evidence for Christ-Jesus actually existing, other than the Gospels, and the Epistles of Paul, Peter, John, and maybe especially, the Book of Revelation. It has to do with the so-called, "Plot of Caiaphas", which is described here in chapter 11 of the Gospel of John:

Conspiracy to Kill Jesus

47 Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees convened a council, and were saying, “What are we doing? For this man is performing many signs. 48 If we let Him go on like this, all men will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.” 49 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, 50 nor do you take into account that it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.” 51 Now he did not say this on his own initiative, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation, 52 and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. 53 So from that day on they planned together to kill Him.

This means that Caiaphas, the High Priest of the Jewish Sanhedrin, believed that Christ was, indeed, the Messiah, and needed to be crucified in order to save the Nation of Israel as the "chosen people", and even to bringing home the diaspora Jews in the outlying regions. This was for the purpose of mounting the insurrection against the Roman occupation of Israel, which was symbolized by releasing Barabbas, and crucifying Christ. Thus, it was Caiaphas that saw the Messiah, but failed to see that the world was in the process of being Christianized as the total compass of the chosen people of the world. He only wanted to protect his own nation, and so when the crucifixion was accomplished, he destroyed all the documentary evidence accumulated over the three years that Christ-Jesus walked the Earth. Remember, scribes were assigned to take down the interrogatory questioning of Christ by the Pharisees, and this was then handed over to the High Priest. So, by this method, Caiaphas was convinced that Christ had incarnated, as the Prophets of old had foretold.

The final words of the Gospel of John, chapter 21, speak this:

25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.

So, the only possibility for the lack of documentary evidence of Christ on the part of the Jews is this Caiaphas plot, which necessitated both the crucifixion, as well as the destruction of the evidence.

Yes, please consider the Plot of Caiaphas, which is described very blatantly in the Gospel of John, chapter 11. Why is this totally overlooked today? Is it because the Jews say the Gospels were phony documents written by political agents of the Roman Empire? According to Josephus, in his "Antiquities of the Jews", there is no evidence of a Jesus, but he does acknowledge John the Baptist in chapter 18, because of Herod Antipas, who was a real historical figure.
